Bert was born in Aberdeen and still has family in the area. His Cousin Wilmer was our first stop. Wilmer and Bert are the same age and grew up together until they were 14 and have always kept in touch. Wilmer sold his “big” farm a few years ago – and now lives on a mere 80 acres, mostly in oats, but there are some Lentils and peas as well. The farm is beautiful, the barn was updated a few years ago and the outside has the new red aluminum siding, but the barn itself is the original barn built in 1934. The kids were enthralled by the equipment and the antique tractors. Sadly Wilmer sold most of his collection of antique tractors last year, but the ones left were still amazing.
